We went earlier this summer and it was fantastic. They have cabins to rent and a campground, too. And lots of toddler-sized rides. It's in Elysburg, PA, about 2.5 or 3 hours from Baltimore.

You get delicious funnel cakes bigger than your face for a couple of bucks. You get a haunted-house ride and two roller coasters that are considered among the best of their kinds in the country. And you get in without paying an admission or parking fee, so you can actually leave this place with money in your pocket." Here's their website.

Here's the film's schedule at The Charles. ... Based on John Waters’ 1988 cult classic about star-struck teenagers on a local Baltimore dance show, the comedy features a remarkable collection of talent including John Travolta, Queen Latifah, Michelle Pfeiffer, Christopher Walken, Amanda Bynes, Allison Janney, Brittany Snow, Zac Efron, Elijah Kelley, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (Chicago), and director Adam Shankman. "To judge from a 17-minute trailer New Line Cinema unspooled to Baltimore and Washington movie critics and entertainment writers yesterday, the filmmakers have succeeded in making a V-8 musical-comedy engine hit on all cylinders. But they haven't lost the freshness, sass and charm of an exuberant early-'60s period piece that views rock and civil rights as the key ingredients of the American Teenage Revolution that turned popular culture into youth culture." (Michael Sragow)

The crime-alert network (see below) says that a Latino man in a "junky" blue car has been seen acting suspiciously in the Stoneleigh neighborhood. He stopped his car in front of a girl who was playing in her yard and motioned for her to get in his car. She ran in the house and her mother called 911. Police say others called 911 in another area, near Wiltondale pool, with similar reports that sound like the same person. Police say keep your eyes open and call 911 if you see anything suspicious.

There is a new Crime Alert Network to notify residents, by email, of crimes in the area so that, hopefully, future crimes can be prevented with the heightened awareness. This is being done in conjunction with the Baltimore County Police Department and surrounding communities. Any residents wishing to be added to the crime alert list should send an email to StoneleighCOP@verizon.net.
